The professional stamp collectors believe that the hobby of stamp collecting was started from the very first stamp that was issued The One Penny Black. The stamp collecting hobby simply started because the collectors find the best beauty of the great amazing art of the stamps.

Before the stamps were not available for the postage process, in that era, the receiver of the letter had to pay the postage charge of the letter instead of the sender. That process was simply awkward for the receiver as they have to pay for the postage letters and sometimes many receivers simply refuse to accept or pay for the letter. So because of that, many times the senders simply place the secret message on envelop and as soon as the receiver just view the message on envelop, he never pay for the letter he received.

Now let’s talk about the history of the great stamps which were simply started for the use of postage process. The very first postage stamp which was issued for the postage service was the One Penny Black. This stamp was issued by Britain on 6th May, 1840 that contains the picture of the young and charming Queen Victoria. This very first stamp was designed and produced by Rowland Hill who was English schoolmaster in 1837.

This very first stamp of Queen Victoria was used for almost sixty years in the postage service of Britain until the year 1900. It’s been said that unused 1 Penny Black stamps are really very rate to find these days, but they are still in existence today at few stamps collectors across the world. One Penny Black was issued on 6th May 1840, and just after two days another stamp called 2 Pence Blue was released on 8th May 1840 that was produced by blue dies but suddenly took the place of cancellation.

So this is the great history of the postage stamps which simply helped all the countries across the world by great idea as charge the postage fees in advance from the sender instead of the receiver.

A lot of people have taken up the hobby of collecting stamps as a means to grow and protect wealth, ever since the recession of 2008 that sent traditional investments into a downward spiral. Unlike the gold index or housing market or the stock, economic conditions do not affect such collectibles. As far collecting stamps is concerned, the great part is that there are minimal rules, as per the National Postal Museum. However, the stamps which need to be collected and those which are necessary for the preservation of collections must be learnt by potential collectors, if they will be collecting stamps as an investment.

To acquire an immense return on investment, familiarizing themselves with the types of stamps that should be collected is necessary for potential collectors. A scale that ranges from poor to superb and centering, is used to determine the value of stamps that is based on condition, as explained by the Smithsonian Postal Museum. Centering is another criterion that also concludes the value of a stamp. The stamp image’s position with the outer edges is inspected when checking the centering of a stamp. Stamp with ‘poor ratings’ should be avoided by those who are collecting them as an investment, while only the stamps belonging within the ‘fine’ to ‘superb’ categories are worth collecting.

A complete stamp kit that includes a detector dish, magnifying glasses, tongs, watermark detector fluid and any extra tools needed to identify and handle stamps must be procured. Additionally, not only should collectors be knowledgeable on how to soak stamps but should also procure a soaking kit, if they ever might need to save stamps from mailed envelops. When it comes to lifting a stamp from an envelope intact, they should be soaked in a bowl of cool water for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Often it might take a lot more time since certain stamps do not soak well and at times to prevent discoloration, some of them even need to be soaked with a different approach.

In regards to identifying rare and valuable stamps, apart from reference books and collecting periodicals, additionally the Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue should also be used. Limited-edition stamps are quite worthwhile if identified, while other valuable ones also include those that commemorate distinguished people and topics of today.

A good home decoration can give an entirely new look to one’s home. These days, people often employ professional home decorators to give that unique look to the interiors of their homes. Let us have a look at some of the intricacies of this emerging field.

Interior decoration is the art of decorating a room so that it becomes attractive and functions well within the existing architecture of the house. Although, the terms home decor and interior designing are often used interchangeably, they in fact show a distinct difference in their scopes. Home decor typically focuses on the appropriate selection and presentation of the house’s interior items like furniture, accessories and room layout. On the other hand, interior designing involves the manipulation of the architectural integrity of the interior space of a house.

The first professional interior decorators were probably employed in Western Europe during 1720s. William Kent is often cited as the first person who took charge of the interior decoration of an entire building. In London, the work of home decorators was earlier done by the upholsterers while the same job was done by merchand-mercier or “Merchant of Goods” in Paris during early nineteenth century.
Syrie Maugham, Dorothy Draper and Sybil Colefax are among the prominent eighteenth century interior home decorators. The two prominent London based modern interior home decorators are Lenygon and Morant. The present day home decor themes do not belong to a specific period or style. The job of interior designers have become more specialised over a period of time. The modern interior designers choose floor plans, light fixtures and wall paintings for the houses.
The goal of home decor is to provide a certain “feel” to the home. These days, many people take the services of professionally certified interior decorators (C.I.D.) to give a all new look and feel to their homes. The home decoration has become a popular television subject in the UK. Changing Rooms (BBC) and Selling Houses (Channel 4) are the two most popular home decoration programs that have widely been appreciated by the Britishers.

The home decorating industry is thriving and largely successful as more people are doing their own interior design projects. Home makeover television shows have been immensely popular and have mass appeal to the average home enthusiasts. People are gaining confidence that they can create the design look they want by trying some of the home decorating ideas they see on television, online and in interior design magazines.

One factor that can detract from room enhancement efforts is a room filled with piles of papers, books, clothes and furniture, which all amount to clutter. One of the simplest ways to redecorate is to de-clutter the space to open it up to the possibilities of change. This is something the whole family can work together to do and will yield beneficial results for everyone, as items are cleaned out and wanted items are neatly arranged and stored.

The idea of decorating rooms in the home can seem intimidating at first, because deciding where to begin can often be as difficult as the task at hand. Once the decision is made as to the type of project, costs involved and accessories to buy, it is easier to get started. It is also good to look at magazines or websites to get helpful decorating tips on styles and coordinated accessories to consider. Dressing up a room is a lot like putting together a nice outfit for a special occasion–all of the components work together for a fresh, new look.

One of the simplest things people can do to fix up their home is to splash on a fresh coat of paint. Many home improvement stores have very knowledgeable staff concerning color schemes and types of paint that would be best to use. In addition, some stores sell tutorial CDs that give step-by-step directions on the basics of painting. Paint stores can also provide helpful information about the most suitable type of paint and colors to consider for your living space.

You might be having a tough financial situation that you just can’t shake. In this case, applying for food stamps is your first priority, especially if your homeless or living from your car. While it is a good idea to get some help, you should never abuse the system.

You can easily apply for food stamps, that way you and your family can benefit by having enough food on the table to feed the children as well. It is easy to request an application for food stamps. You can do this by contacting your county office via phone, person, fax, or snail mail. The fastest way to do this though is to apply for food stamps online. Make sure you have at least one adult to sign the food stamp application, along with any supporting documents that prove your income.

To apply for food stamps, visit your local Welfare office and ask for an application. You can either mail the application back or return it to the front desk. If you want the process to be quicker, the best thing you can do is fill it out and give the application back that same day.

Close your eyes, reach into your wallet and try to distinguish between a $1 bill and a $5 bill. Impossible? It’s also discriminatory, a federal appeals court says.

Since all paper money feels pretty much the same, the government is denying blind people meaningful access to the currency, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled Tuesday. The decision could force the Treasury Department to make bills of different sizes or print them with raised markings or other distinguishing features.

The American Council of the Blind sued for such changes, but the government has been fighting the case for about six years.

The U.S. acknowledges the current design hinders blind people, but it argues that they have adapted. Some rely on store clerks to help, some use credit cards and others fold certain corners to help distinguish between bills.

Some use electronic currency readers. But they can be expensive, and they sometimes have problems with new $20 bills.

The New Zealand dollar (sign: $; code: NZD) is the currency of New Zealand. It also circulates in the Cook Islands (see also Cook Islands dollar), Niue, Tokelau, and the Pitcairn Islands. It is divided into 100 cents.

It is normally written with the dollar sign $, or NZ$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. It is often informally known as the “Kiwi,” kiwi typically being associated with New Zealand, and the $1 coin depicts a kiwi. It is one of the 12 most-traded currencies in the world.

History
The New Zealand dollar was introduced on 10 July 1967 when New Zealand decimalised its currency. The dollar replaced the New Zealand pound, which had been distinct from the pound sterling since 1933, at a rate of two dollars to one pound (10 shillings to a dollar).

The NZ$ was initially pegged to the US dollar at US$1.39 = NZ$1. This rate changed on 21 November of the same year to US$1.12 = NZ$1 after the devaluation of the British pound (see Bretton Woods system), although New Zealand devalued more than the UK.

In 1971 the US devalued its dollar relative to gold, leading New Zealand on 23 December to peg its dollar at US$1.216 with a 4.5% fluctuation range, keeping the same gold value. From 9 July 1973 to 4 March 1985 the dollar’s value was determined from a trade-weighted basket of currencies.

The NZD was floated on 4 March 1985 at the initial rate of US$0.4444. Since then the dollar’s value has been determined by the financial markets, and has been in the range of about US$0.39 to 0.82.

Today we have so many investing options in our hand such as investing in real estate that can get you good returns in the future or investing in fixed deposits where you are assured of returns at a specific rate of interest. But have you ever thought if investing your hard earned money in gold and silver? Why not think of this option as it has a lot of added benefits?

There are other reasons to buy gold besides making a killing in the market. Even conservative investors should have some gold in their portfolio no matter what the market is doing. Not necessarily as an investment, but as insurance. In worst case scenarios, gold will always be worth something, in the best case, gold will be worth more than cash that’s in the banks and stocks.

Buying gold coins is one of the best and safest ways to invest in gold. Gold coins are usually more expensive; when it comes to the content of gold compared to bars. This is because gold coins are more expensive to manufacture. One benefit of gold coins over gold bars is gold coins tend to build more numismatic value over time. The reason for this is most gold coins are struck with a date on it. The older the coin usually the more numismatic value it will build, once it is kept in good condition.

Another benefit of buying gold coins is its ability to preserve your wealth from inflation or any other economic downturn a nation might face. Gold coins and gold bars have intrinsic value. This means unlike a stock in a company it will not become worthless over night because of human action. Gold coins are known to preserve wealth even when the organization that struck it ceases to exist. Gold coins do not rust or tarnish, so once it is not damage or scratched it will retain and usually build more value over time.

One last benefit of buying gold coins is its ease to liquidate. Gold coins are one of the easiest assets to sell. Most investors that invest in gold are likely to buy coins because of its ability to accumulate numismatic value over time. Another reason why gold coins are easy to liquidate is gold coins and gold bars usually have a uniform weight and purity stated on it. If an investor is not familiar with a coin, they can look at it and know how much gold and what purity they are buying. Investing in gold coins has its benefits; some of the benefits are hard to find in other investments. This is what makes gold coins one of the best investments out there.

Also remember that coins cannot be manufactured as currency. The currency value goes down as their quantity increase but the value of precious metals has always seen an upward trend. Another reason for investing in coins is that you have something to show as your wealth even in case of economic doom that many experts have predicted in the coming years. Coin collecting is definitely the safest forms of investing as there will always be demand and the prices have always shown an upward trend. Moreover both these assets have high liquidity. You can convert them into currency whenever you want.

We have one more good reason for investing in gold and silver and that is both these commodities are portable. You can take them anywhere around the globe as your collection and your wealth. You can’t always do the same thing with other forms of investment if you are moving to another country such as your house, deposits and shares. And you also have the ability to buy equivalent gold and silver equities which can help you to gear up your investment portfolio.

Today markets such as the Chinese and the Indian markets have the highest demand for coins and more and more people are rushing to buy equities and bullion. Research shows that more number of Chinese people starts investing and speculating, the move could spiral the prices of gold and silver to the third phase. Many countries like Germany have set up coin vending machines at airports where you can buy 1 gm of gold or 10 gm of silver and this step will increase the rush for demand of these commodities. The World Gold Council records an upward trend in demand of about 33% in the first three months of the current year. So isn’t this news encouraging?
